- Autopsy uses something called “solr” as it’s local database for handling all your analysed content. If you configure Autopsy to save the project to a networked drive, solr fails and a lot of metadata will get lost. So only use localstorage for saving your results.
- To improve performance, increase the amount of RAM used by Autopsy by going to Tools -> Settings -> General
- To improve performance, increase the number of threads used by Autopsy by going to Tools -> Settings -> Ingestion -> General tab. This can only be done when no cases are open.
